ProYoDa pointed out the uselessness of simply preaching people to read serious stuff to people who hasn't realised its importance, and how to start a culture of reading "serious stuffs" which seemed to lack in the young adults of today.
thing is, I can't tell what 'serious' in everyone's language would mean, and how people will follow them, according to their interests...
maybe for a highschooler, whose normal reading material is just love novels, then 'serious' for them would be an islamic 'love' novel, like 'Ayat2 Cinta'..
to a medic, 'serious' may include reading more about how evolution is compatible with conventional Islamic wisdom...
to a physicist (like me), 'serious' may mean reading about the nature of time, and the philosophical implications that a timeless equation may mean...
therefore, the word 'serious' gives different meaning to different people...
what I aim to change is how people think and act...
we must all come to the conclusion that we are not reading enough, don't have enough knowledge, and should start reading more, in our own respective perspective, serious stuff...
i don't want to simply say read philosophy, history and politics to get a good grips with the nature of humans; not everyone can do that...
rather, each person hould know what his limits and interests are, start exploring that area, develop oneself, and contribute to society...
and we should all be less selfish and think about the whole world as a dynamical system, rather than ourselves being at the centre of the world...

When im reading ur blog, suddenly i rem there's a movie about ppl who dun read. It's call "Idiocrasy"...
It's a story about people that become so dumb in let say 500 yrs from now just bcoz their ancestors dun read... haha !..
It's a comedy story act. Btw, the values are wat important...
